Who is doing more for our brothers in need, the Press or the Muslim Ummah...

The Prophet (saws) clearly stated in numerous ahadeeth about brotherhood in Islam and the fact that if one person in the ummah feels pain, then we should all feel that same pain... but can we as un ummah, truly say that we feel the pain of these brothers and their families? Will we only help when it is our own loved one in such a predicamant?
