A request from the Imam of HMP Wormwood Scrubs (above)
Assalamu Alaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh
I pray you are all well and in the best of health by the grace of the Almighty. Aamin
You may be aware that HMP Wormwood Scrubs in West London has a very large Muslim population (today's count was showing 283 registered). With the holy month of Ramadhan so near planning has already started to make this a very special Ramadhan and Eid for them.
One of the things we are planning to do is to give them a special Ramadhan pack. This will have dates, Tasbih, Ittar, Hat, Books and literature, alarm clocks, prayer mats, Quran CD's etc. Alhamdulillah, some of you have promised to supply some of the items and we have managed to collect some of the things already. We are also arranging for them to have special food
during the last 10 nights of Ramadhan.
First and foremost I would like to request you all to remember us in your duaas during these blessed days.
Secondly, if you could help us to collect these items. We are desperately in need of prayer mats more than anything else. You can help us by forwarding this email to others on your contact list, by speaking to friends and family, place this request on websites and forums, anything that you feel would help our cause. Any help would be most appreciated.
With your help we can make this a very special Ramadhan for our Muslim brothers at Wormwood Scrubs prison.
