Summary
According to Narendra Modi’s official website (http://narendramodi.in/news/news_detail/411), the Governor of Solvici Province, Indonesia, Mr Syawral Yasin Limpo invited the Chief Minister to Indonesia in order to work together in the field of Agriculture and Biomass Energy. Modi has accepted the invitation and has expressed his earnestness in working together with the Indonesians.
Background
In February 2002, Gujarat witnessed horrific incidents of extreme violence that can only be described as genocide of the Muslim population. Over 2000 people, including British Asians, were slaughtered mercilessly, with over 200,000 people displaced in under-resourced refugee camps. Houses were systematically looted, businesses burnt down, hundreds of women gang raped and countless children murdered in the most horrific manner. All the evidence suggests that the Gujarat State Government, led by the current Chief Minister Narendra Modi, aided by the state police orchestrated the violence and carnage.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) set up by the Supreme Court of India is investigating Modi and 61 others including members of the government cabinet, policemen and civil servants, for their role in the Gujarat massacre.
The UK, US and many European countries have already denied entry visas to Modi due to his prominent role in the massacre. Also in an embarrassing episode for Modi, Oman denied inviting him to the Gulf state, after Modi’s official office claimed he had been invited to Oman.
Yet, despite domestic and international public pressure, not a single prominent individual has been held to account or brought to justice for the horrific violence in Gujarat.

Action required
We urge all campaigners to write to their Indonesian embassy asking for the withdrawal of the invitation to Modi Narendra to Indonesia, due to his role in orchestrating the massacre of the Muslim population of Gujarat which left 2000 people dead.
